Joan Didion Covers

In this project, I reimagined the covers of three iconic works by Joan Didion: 'The Year of Magical Thinking', 'The White Album', and 'Slouching Towards Bethlehem'.

Through the use of manipulated imagery, distressed textures, and expressive typography, I aimed to capture the haunting and introspective tone of Didion’s writing. The designs rely on restrained visual language like minimalism, contrast, and negative space to reflect the tension that runs throughout her works. Rather than literal depictions, the covers aim to evoke a mood: something quietly unsettling, contemplative, and emotional.
